Rochelle Feinstein lives and works in New York and has exhibited nationally and internationally. She is a painter who is known to work across varied media, while drawing from the attitudes, attributes and conventions embedded in painting. She has written about art and artists, and is an actively engaged artist/resident/lecturer at universities, project spaces and foundations in the US and abroad. Her work has been featured in Artforum, TimeOut, The Village Voice, Tema Celeste, Artnews, Art in America, BOMB, The Paris Review, The New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine, and other publications. She is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, Foundation for Contemporary Art, Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation, Fondation Cartier at Giverny, She has been a professor of painting/printmaking at the School of Art, Yale University, since 1995.
